Position
The SVP Global Partnerships & Business Developmentis a strategic executive responsible for driving enterprise-wide partnership growth, brand expansion, and revenue diversification across the organization’s global portfolio. This leader develops and executes innovative, multi-dimensional partnership strategies that elevate brand value, unlock new revenue streams, and create long-term, mission-aligned collaborations across music, entertainment, media, nonprofit, and corporate sectors.
The SVP helps develop the global partnership ecosystem that complements and amplifies the organization’s evolving media and content distribution strategy, including its long-term media rights partnership with Disney. The SVP works cross-functionally at the highest levels of the organization, building consensus among executive leadership and stakeholders while cultivating meaningful external relationships with Fortune 500 brands, agencies, platforms, and thought leaders worldwide.
The role is full-time, ideally based in Los Angeles, CA, and reports to the Chief Global Entertainment Officer.
Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Business Development
- Develop and execute a global partnerships strategy aligned with enterprise growth priorities and brand
- Identify, evaluate, and secure strategic partners that align with organizational mission, cultural leadership, and commercial objectives
- Identify and cultivate partnerships that extend the organization’s global brand ecosystem across consumer brands, tech platforms, experiential programs, and cultural collaborations
- Develop brand collaborations and content partnerships that extend the organization’s storytelling and cultural reach across emerging formats including digital content, documentaries, branded storytelling, and cross-platform initiatives
- Structure and negotiate complex, multi-year, multi-platform partnership agreements
- Lead competitive analyses and develop innovative business models that expand partnership value and alternative revenue scenarios
- Maintain deep knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities that inform long-range strategies
- Ensure partnerships strengthen the organization’s cultural leadership and align with its mission to serve, support, and advocate for the global music community
Partnership Development & Brand Value Creation
- Design and integrate partnership platforms that activate across the organization’s flagship events, content, global activations, and year-round programs, creating immersive experiences that deepen audience engagement and partner value
- Enhance and expand service offerings in collaboration with internal business leaders and external partners
- Articulate and promote the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives to prospective and existing partners
Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution
- Build enterprise alignment and secure internal buy-in for partnership initiatives across departments and business units
- Develop synergistic programs that integrate multiple services and platforms across the organization
- Partner with cross-functional teams to design and execute high-impact activations
- Establish measurable frameworks to evaluate partnership effectiveness, including quantifiable ROI and market expansion metrics.
Relationship Management & Market Intelligence
- Cultivate network of industry contacts and strategic advisors
- Develop and maintain relationships with thought leaders and partners to gather real-time market insight and feedback
- Ensure best-in-class partner lifecycle management from prospecting through activation, renewal, and expansion
CRM & Data-Driven Performance
- Apply deep expertise in Salesforce CRM, pipeline management, forecasting, partner lifecycle tracking, reporting, and data-driven relationship strategy
- Implement disciplined forecasting and reporting processes for executive visibility and decision-making
- Utilize financial modeling and analytics to assess partnership opportunities and long-term value creation
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing partnership and business development teams.
- Oversee hiring, performance management, professional development, compensation planning, and succession planning for assigned staff
- Foster collaborative, high-accountability culture focused on innovation, execution, excellence, and continuous improvement
Integrity & Ethical Leadership
- Operate with the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical judgment in all internal and external interactions
- Ensure full compliance with all organizational policy, regulatory requirements and ethical standards
- Model culture of ethics, respect, and responsibility across the team and broader organization
Revenue Leadership & Performance Accountability
- Own accountability for achieving and exceeding annual and multi-year global partnership revenue targets as a primary success metrics for this role
- Develop and execute disciplined revenue strategy inclusive of new business acquisition, renewals, upsells, and multi-platform deal expansion
- Work with division head and RA senior leadership to develop annual growth and division growth goals
- Build and manage robust, data-driven sales pipeline, accurate forecasting and visibility into quarterly and annual revenue performance
- Establish measurable KPIs tied to revenue growth, partner retention, average deal size, and long-term portfolio value
- Report revenue performance, pipeline health, and growth projections to executive leadership
- Drive a high-performance culture where revenue accountability, disciplined execution, and results orientation are foundational expectations across the team
Digital Partnerships & Impression-Based Monetization
- Demonstrate deep expertise in digital sales strategy and partnership monetization
- Design and sell multi-platform partnership programs that integrate live events, content, social, streaming, and owned-and-operated digital channels
- Develop sophisticated valuation frameworks for digital assets, including audience reach, engagement metrics, branded content integrations, and data-driven deliverables
- Partner closely with internal teams to create scalable digital sponsorship packages aligned to partner KPIs
- Ensure clear articulation of digital inventory value and measurable ROI tied to impressions, engagement, conversion metrics, and brand lift
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field preferred. MBA a plus
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategic partnerships, sponsorship sales, business development, or related fields
- Experience in music, entertainment, media, nonprofit, or adjacent industries strongly preferred
- Proven track record of structuring and closing high-value, complex partnership agreements
- Strong financial acumen with experience developing business cases and partnership valuation models
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Deep expertise in Salesforce CRM and disciplined pipeline management practices
- Demonstrated ability to identify and leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, data analytics, and marketing automation to enhance partnership strategy, audience insights, and revenue opportunities
- Experience incorporating AI-driven analytics and predictive modeling to inform partnership development, audience targeting, campaign optimization, and revenue forecasting
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with strong executive presence
Compensation
The base salary for this position is $210,700 to $271,800 per year, benchmarked against industry standards. The actual extended offer will depend on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the role's requirements and will include a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k match, generous paid time off, and more).
