Polar Field Services is seeking experienced maintenance technicians to support scientific research operations at Summit Station, Greenland. The mechanics will maintain heavy equipment, power generation systems, and station facilities while living with a small winter crew in one of the world’s most remote Arctic environments. This seasonal opportunity is ideal for experienced mechanics who excel in extreme conditions and enjoy solving complex mechanical challenges while supporting critical research.

What you’ll need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years maintaining heavy equipment or tracked vehicles
- 5+ years of facilities or mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience using diagnostic software and repair systems
- Ability to operate trucks, snowmobiles, and remote-environment vehicles
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in extreme Arctic conditions and confined spaces
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Valid U.S. passport
What will make you stand out
- Experience in remote, polar, or cold-weather environments
- Experience with diesel generators or power systems
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Knowledge of low-voltage systems or controls
- OSHA or other safety certifications
