Heavy Equipment Operators – FIFO + Housing – Antarctica Deployment
This is a rare opportunity to join a mission-critical team as a Heavy Equipment Operator at McMurdo Station and the South Pole in Antarctica. Operators will support operations like runway and traverse construction, cargo handling, and snow removal using a wide range of tracked and wheeled equipment. Meals, housing, and flights are provided. This is a challenging, physically demanding position in one of the most extreme environments on Earth.

What you’ll need:
- High school diploma or GED
- 4+ years of heavy equipment operating experience
- Ability to pass medical, dental, drug screen, and federal background checks
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Willingness to live and work in Antarctica for extended periods
- Physical ability to lift, climb, shovel, and work in extreme cold
- Teamwork skills and ability to contribute to station community duties
What will make you stand out:
- Class A CDL
- Prior cold-climate equipment experience
- Rigging certification
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Experience operating in resource-limited or remote environments
