Electricians are needed at McMurdo Station, Antarctica, for a seasonal contract supporting the United States Antarctic Program. This role with Amentum involves electrical maintenance and construction in extreme conditions, working under the supervision of experienced foremen. Ideal candidates are licensed electricians with significant experience in commercial or industrial settings, ready to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods and work in challenging environments.

What You’ll Need
- High School diploma or GED
- Current Journeyman or Master Electrician license, or equivalent Union membership (not Residential type)
- Minimum four years (8,000 hours) documented experience in all phases of electrical work
- Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code
- Experience in construction and/or maintenance of commercial and/or industrial facilities
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, and diagrams
- Proficient in use of electrical/electronic and mechanical test equipment
- Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods
- Successful completion of medical, dental, drug screening, and background checks
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Ability to lift and move items as required by safety regulations
- Ability to perform physical activities in extreme cold
- US Citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Training or certification on NFPA 70E: Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
- Experience with heat trace on outdoor insulated piping
- Experience with permanently installed UPS systems
- Experience with motor controls and Variable Frequency Drives
- Experience with Maximo or other Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Experience with airfield runway lighting
- Experience with voltages up to 4160
- Experience with fire alarm systems and components
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
