Position Overview

TotalEnergies EP Suriname B.V. is seeking an Operations Geologist to provide technical support for ongoing drilling and subsurface operations in Suriname. The role focuses on geological operations monitoring, well preparation and execution, data acquisition integrity, and collaboration across subsurface, asset, operations, and HSE teams.

Key Responsibilities

Support HSE aspects of subsurface geological operations.
Monitor pore pressure, fracture pressure, and temperature data during drilling.
Provide real-time geological operations monitoring.
Ensure the security and integrity of well data acquisition.
Participate in well planning and preparation processes (3W and WSOR).
Follow up on well operations and interpret geological data.
Conduct post-well studies and manage geological archives and data storage.
Act as the primary operational interface between Subsurface, Asset, Operations, and HSE teams.
Participate in technical workshops and official meetings related to well operations.
Contribute to well optimization initiatives and cost reduction efforts.
Promote knowledge sharing across the region.
Coordinate with data acquisition service providers.
Build effective relationships with local contractors, authorities, and industry stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree (Honours) in Geology.
10-12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
Strong ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
Good understanding of Exploration (EXPLO) and Exploration & Production (EP) processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (mandatory).
French and Dutch are highly desirable.
Comprehensive knowledge of well operations in:
- Deepwater
- Shallow water
- Onshore environments
At least 5 years of subsurface operations experience in roles such as:
- Wellsite Geologist (WSG)
- Operations Geologist
- Head of Subsurface
- Petrophysical Analysis Specialist
