Operations Manager (Warehouse & Facilities)
Overview:
A growing mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee warehouse operations, inventory, facilities, fleet, and logistics. This individual will play a key role in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations across Installations, Service, and Boiler Repair departments.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
- Oversee all safety protocols and compliance within the facility
- Manage PPE inventory and ensure proper usage
- Maintain emergency preparedness procedures, including fire safety compliance
Team Management
- Supervise and support a team of warehouse and inventory personnel (currently 4 employees)
- Ensure all tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards
Inventory & Logistics Management
- Oversee warehouse operations and inventory across multiple departments
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, including stock in company vehicles
- Anticipate shortages and proactively address supply needs
- Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems for deliveries, shipments, and stock
- Coordinate and optimize delivery and shipment schedules
- Conduct physical inventory counts for accounting purposes
Purchasing & Vendor Coordination
- Partner with leadership to identify equipment and material needs
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supply chain processes
Facilities Management
- Oversee daily facility operations including opening/closing procedures
- Ensure building and grounds are clean, safe, and properly maintained
- Manage third-party vendors (e.g., HVAC services) and building utilities
- Conduct and document routine facility inspections
- Recommend and implement improvements to warehouse layout and organization
- Coordinate snow removal and waste management
Fleet & Equipment Management
- Oversee maintenance and repair of company vehicles
- Manage operation and upkeep of forklifts and other warehouse equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in active construction and warehouse environments
- Comfortable climbing ladders, working from aerial lifts, and accessing tight spaces
- Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs
