EEC Solutions is looking for an Interior Designer to support a possible upcoming contract at VA Long Beach Healthcare System, Long Beach, CA.

Position Description
The Interior Designer independently plans and executes interior design services under the VA Supervisory Interior Designer within the Interior Design Section of the Engineering Service Planning Section. Responsibilities span space planning, FF&E procurement package development, AutoCAD design production, budget management, and installation oversight for major construction activations at VALBHS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Independently create and execute design services for offices, conference rooms, patient care/treatment rooms, waiting rooms, lobbies, break rooms, and support spaces throughout major construction projects.
- Prepare detailed AutoCAD FF&E plan layers; analyze architectural drawings for compliance with VA TIL standards.
- Produce procurement packages including SOW, technical specifications, IGCEs, bid sheets, and budgets per VA contracting standards.
- Manage financial tracking, vendor communication, and delivery/installation scheduling for FF&E packages.
- Maintain Interior Design Resource Library including drawings, plans, specification documents, and project binders.
- Review wayfinding signage, furniture, and artwork installation plans; direct installation crews independently.
- Identify and create punch lists for installed items; coordinate completion with dealers and installers.
- Conduct collaborative meetings with end users and stakeholders for transition and movein planning.
- Apply working knowledge of ABAAS, VA Barrier Free Design Guide, TIL, ICC, OSHA, and NFPA standards.
- Perform other administrative duties including dayinlife scenarios, move plans, schedules, and project meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred); or 810 years of professional interior design experience (SP3 standard).
- Professional interior design experience in healthcare or institutional environments; AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Candidates must provide resume demonstrating professional interior design experience in healthcare/institutional environments and/or bachelor's degree (SP3).
- Candidates must demonstrate AutoCAD proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Patient Centered Care culture in healthcare. Microsoft Project and Revit beneficial.
- Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- NCIDQ, PMP, EDAC, and/or LEED preferred.
