EEC Solutions is looking for a Junior Interior Designer to support a possible upcoming contract at VA Long Beach Healthcare System, Long Beach, CA.

Position Description
The Junior Interior Designer works with the contracted Interior Designer, contracted Interior Design Assistant, and VA Interior Designer to create and execute design services for major construction projects at VALBHS. Responsibilities include AutoCAD design, procurement package support, activation coordination, and installation oversight under the direction of the VA Interior Designer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with contracted Interior Designer, Interior Design Assistant, and VA Interior Designer to create design services for varied healthcare spaces.
- Prepare detailed AutoCAD FF&E plan layers; interpret and review architectural plans for VA TIL compliance.
- Produce procurement packages including SOW, technical specifications, IGCEs, bid sheets, and budgets.
- Manage financial tracking and coordinate with vendors and activations team regarding package status and delivery/installation schedules.
- Maintain Interior Design Resource Library; manage activation items including furnishings, accessories, art, signage, and supplies.
- Review wayfinding signage, furniture, and artwork installation plans; direct installation crews without direct supervision.
- Create and maintain punch lists; coordinate completion with dealers and installers.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and report to activations team; assist with transition and movein planning.
- Take meeting notes and maintain design collateral from stakeholder meetings.
- Apply working knowledge of ABAAS, VA Barrier Free Design Guide, TIL, ICC, OSHA, and NFPA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree (minimum per SP4 standard); Bachelor's Degree preferred. New graduates with internship or practical experience in medical or institutional environments are acceptable.
- 13 years of relevant experience (SP4 standard); new graduates with applicable internships considered.
- Candidates must provide copy of degree/transcript and resume. New graduates accepted if supported by internship or practical experience in medical or institutional environments (SP4).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Patient Centered Care culture in healthcare. AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite required. Microsoft Project and Revit beneficial.
- NCIDQ, PMP, EDAC, and/or LEED preferred.
