Basin Lighthouse is a community-based nonprofit serving the Permian Basin, focused on substance use prevention, behavioral health promotion, family strengthening, parental intervention, and community awareness. Our mission centers on equipping youth, parents, and communities with the tools and education needed to build healthier, more resilient futures free from substance use.
Our most immediate opening is for a Youth Prevention Specialist, based in Odessa, with some travel to surrounding counties (Midland, Big Spring, Andrews, and others). While our current services are primarily in Odessa with some coverage in Midland, our Youth Program will expand to eight counties as we become fully staffed. Mileage is reimbursed; however, candidates must have a reliable vehicle, valid insurance, and be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
This role includes delivering evidence-based prevention curriculum to youth, participating in community events, and representing Basin Lighthousethroughout the region. Experience working with children or youth, whether professionally or through volunteer roles, is essential, along with strong public speaking skills. These positions are primarily full-time, with some part-time availability.
We are also hiring for the following roles:
-Coalition Coordinator (Ector County): Supports and coordinates local prevention efforts by facilitating meetings, engaging community partners, supporting prevention strategies, and aligning local efforts around substance use prevention and behavioral health.
-Case Managers for Parenting Classes (Mothers and Fathers): These virtual classes support parents, often expecting parents or those involved with Child Protective Services, who may be navigating substance use challenges or other risk factors. The focus is on helping families build practical, strengths-based parenting skills. Positions are available in both part-time and full-time capacities.
