AGF Talent is helping a wellhead (oil & gas) company based in the Midland-Odessa, TX area find its next Director of Operations.
This is a small company with real momentum. They're growing across the Permian Basin and need someone who can step in, take ownership, and help them get to the next level. If you like building things and don't need a big corporate structure to get work done, this could be a great fit.
Location: Midland-Odessa, TX (Permian Basin)
Reports To: President
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $130,000 to $150,000 plus bonus
What You'll Be Doing
You'll report directly to the President and run operations day to day. This isn't a role where you sit behind a desk waiting for direction. You'll be expected to lead, make calls on your own, and get your hands dirty when needed.
Here's what that looks like in practice:
- Running field operations and keeping the business moving
- Hiring and leading a team as the company grows
- Traveling regularly across the Permian Basin to stay close to the work and the customers
- Making decisions independently, without waiting for sign-off on everything
- Jumping between different responsibilities, operations one day, hiring the next, logistics after that
- Helping build out systems and structure as the company scales
- Working closely with the President as a right hand, not just a direct report
What We're Looking For
- A solid leadership background, someone who's managed people and gotten results
- Oil and gas experience is a must
- Wellhead experience is a big plus
- You're willing to travel throughout the Permian Basin regularly
- You're comfortable in a small company where there isn't a big support staff behind you
- You can operate independently and make good calls without hand-holding
- You've hired people before and know how to build a team
- A college degree is nice but not required
- Military background is a plus but not required
