The Role
This role is an integral part of the People team, collaborating in the execution and functional excellence of People initiatives, providing great internal support and process improvement.
The People Coordinator contribution to the team experience is one of the most important components to our success. You will help us build an impactful employee experience from onboarding and training to feedback and career development. Time management, outstanding communication skills, and workflow coordination are key for this role in order to support the progress of different projects while connecting with team members at all layers of the organization..
Responsibilities
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and required postings
- Maintain audit ready employee files and ensure total HRIS data integrity
- Partner with the team to ensure all new hire documentation like I9 records meet regulatory standards
- Support workers compensation case management and OSHA reporting
- Assist with internal audits and compliance reviews to mitigate organizational risk
Employee Relations and Manager Enablement
- Partner with the HRBP to manage investigations, documentation, and performance improvement plans
- Conduct intake conversations and gather details to support timely case resolution
- Coach managers on policy interpretation, documentation standards, and performance conversations
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and escalate high risk matters appropriately
- Facilitate performance cycles and reinforce accountability across the site
Onboarding and Employee Lifecycle Support
- Execute a seamless and compliant onboarding experience for all new hires
- Provide expert guidance on employment eligibility and documentation requirements
- Lead orientation meetings and assist managers with necessary paperwork
- Manage lifecycle changes including promotions, transfers, and offboarding documentation
HR Operations and Programs
- Serve as the primary resource for employee inquiries regarding benefits and policies
- Coordinate leave of absence processes and all related documentation
- Support hiring coordination and interview scheduling in partnership with recruiting
- Manage merchandise orders, in person event logistics, and engagement initiatives
Special Projects
- Support in-person week coordination and logistics.
- Assist with merchandise orders and distribution.
- Manage employee benefits administration and coordination.
Must Have
- 2+ years of previous administrative or project management experience in a startup environment. HR experience preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is required to support our diverse workforce
- Strong time management skills, ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- High-energy, self-starter who has the initiative to function autonomously, anticipate needs, and prioritize responsibilities
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment
- Must be proficient with computer systems
Nice To Have
- Experience with remote onboarding and working in a remote company environment.
- Familiarity with employee benefits management and coordination.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Degree in Human Resources of Psychology
- Proficiency in tools such as Notion, Google Sheets, Monday, Rippling, and AI tools.
